Working with Rocket City Foundation Repair
We book foundation and waterproofing work across Madison, Morgan and Limestone counties for independent crews. Here is who we are looking for and how to reach us.
There is no office with a reception desk behind this website. Rocket City Foundation Repair takes calls from homeowners in Huntsville, Madison, Harvest, Hazel Green, Meridianville, Owens Cross Roads, Decatur and Athens and sends the inspection to an independent foundation contractor, who turns up with their own truck and crew. So the two kinds of people we want to hear from are contractors who could take those inspections and tradespeople who could work for them.
Contractors
A contractor who comes through us gets booked inspections with a homeowner expecting them at a set time, a written description of what the house is doing, and a phone line that keeps taking calls after they go home. In return we ask for the things a careful homeowner would ask for anyway. If you take residential jobs of $10,000 or more, that means a current residential home builder's licence from the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board, since the state requires it at that threshold. It means a certificate of insurance you are willing to hand to a customer. It means filing with City of Huntsville Building Services, or the building office in whichever town the house sits, before underpinning or anchoring anything, and calling Alabama 811 two business days before the first shovel. And it means an inspection report that sometimes says there is nothing to sell.
Tradespeople
The crews our contractors run are usually short of the same three people: a technician who can set up a rotating laser, read floor elevations and photograph cracks with a scale; a pier installer who can drive push or helical piers to refusal and record the depth and pressure on each one; and a waterproofing hand who can cut a slab edge, lay drain tile to fall and set a sump with a battery backup. Experience in clay soils counts for a lot here, because Decatur and Dewey loams behave differently from the sand some installers learned on. We are glad to pass your details to the contractors we work with; the hiring decision is theirs.
Reaching us
Send a short email to hello@rocketcityfoundation.com with "Contractor" or "Crew" in the subject line, where you are based, the towns you can cover, what you have done and a number to call. A résumé is not needed to start, and a phone call to (256) 870-2453 works just as well. We never charge anyone to be introduced to work; if a message asks you to pay to be put on a list, it did not come from us.
