Terms and conditions
Two short lists: the things you can hold us to, and the things we ask of you when a job is booked through this site.
What you can count on
- The inspection is free and the findings are written down before the technician leaves. No price is quoted from the driveway.
- Every dollar figure on this site is a 2026 planning range for the Huntsville area, so you can budget. The only price that binds anyone is the line-by-line sheet the contractor hands you after measuring your house, and that sheet is an offer until you sign it.
- Work booked through this site is carried out by independent foundation contractors, not by the people who run the website. Where a residential job comes to $10,000 or more, Alabama law requires that contractor to hold a residential home builder's licence from the Home Builders Licensure Board; you may ask for the number and check it before you sign.
- Structural work, meaning underpinning, pier replacement, slab lifting and wall anchors, is permitted through City of Huntsville Building Services or the building office for your town, and the permit fee is shown as its own line. Alabama 811 is called at least two business days before any digging.
- Payment is due when the work is complete and accepted, by card, check or transfer. A deposit is only ever requested for a job that needs materials ordered to size, and the amount appears on the sheet before you agree to anything.
- Whatever warranty applies is the one written into your agreement with the contractor. We will tell you plainly what it covers and for how long.
What we ask of you
- Give the technician access to the basement, crawl space and every room, because a laser level reading from half the house is a guess about the other half.
- Treat the guides on this site as background reading, not as an engineer's report, a permit ruling or legal advice for your property. Codes and fees in Madison County change; the current documents of the City, the county and the state are the final word.
- Do not attempt your own excavation, jacking or wall bracing on the strength of anything written here. A foundation under load can move suddenly, and we accept no responsibility for injury or damage from do-it-yourself attempts.
- Tell us promptly if something on the written sheet does not match what was said on site, so it can be corrected before work starts rather than argued about afterward.
- Read the agreement the contractor gives you. It, and not this website, governs the job.
These terms were last revised in October 2026. If a point here is unclear, call (256) 870-2453 or write to hello@rocketcityfoundation.com before you book.
